One of the most captivating elements about designing a fairing for a racing motorcycle is the vast amount of factors that we have to take into account: ergonomics, aerodynamics, air intake system, cooling system, ground clearance, steering angle, suspension travel, room for the sponsors stickers, technical regulations, room for the different motorcycle components (fuel tank, air box, wiring, battery, ECU, etc.), ease in assembling and disassembling the fairing, attempts to minimize the fairing damage in an accident, economic aspects relating to the manufacturing process, aesthetics etc.
As we can see there are a lot of factors involved, and because often certain factors contravene others, reaching an equilibrium with all of them is a complicated task.
